What Are Profhilo & Profhilo Body?

ProfhiloTM is an advanced injectable bio-remodelling treatment composed of ultra-pure hyaluronic acid (HA), designed to improve skin laxity, hydration, and tissue quality rather than to add volume like a dermal filler. 

It’s innovation lies in its capacity to slowly release HA, stimulating your skin to produce new collagen and elastin and thus improving overall skin firmness, texture and hydration over time. 

Profhilo BodyTM is the body-specific version of the treatment, optimised for larger or different body zones (arms, thighs, abdomen, knees, etc.) where skin laxity and crepey texture may be more visible.

How It Works & Regenerative Properties

• Profhilo is formulated with a high concentration of hyaluronic acid using a patented NAHYCO® technology. 
• When injected into the dermis, the hyaluronic acid slowly diffuses and exerts a tissue remodeling / bio-remodelling effect-stimulating four types of collagen and elastin over several weeks. 
• It also attracts water molecules, improving deep hydration of the skin, which helps to “plump from within,” smooth fine lines, and improve skin tone and elasticity. 
• The regenerative aspect is that beyond immediate hydration, the treatment provokes your skin’s own renewal processes-encouraging formation of new collagen and elastin, improving dermal architecture over time.

Course of Treatment & Protocol

Typical Protocol

• For most patients, 2 treatment sessions are standard (often spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart). 
• In cases of more pronounced skin laxity or body areas needing more correction, sometimes a 3rd session may be recommended. 
• After the initial “induction” phase, a maintenance session is often done every 4 to 6 months (or sometimes up to 6–9 months depending on individual response). 
• For Profhilo Body, similar intervals apply: initial course, then maintenance every ~6 months. 

Injection Technique & Points

• For facial Profhilo, the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) method is often used-5 injection points per side to allow even diffusion. 
• In body zones, multiple microinjections are delivered in a grid or pattern across the area to be treated. 

Treatment Duration & Downtime

Treatment time:

• For facial Profhilo, the procedure can often be completed in 10 to 20 minutes
• For Profhilo Body, larger zones may take around 15 minutes or somewhat more depending on the size of the area

Downtime / Recovery:

• There is minimal downtime. Most patients return to normal daily activities immediately. 
• You may see mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or small raised blebs (tiny bumps) at injection sites, typically resolving within 24-48 hours. 
• Some bruising or mild itching is possible but generally short-lived. 
• Because of the microinjections, some small blebs may last for ~24 hours, particularly in body zones. 
• There is no requirement for significant downtime, but we advise avoiding strenuous exercise, excessive heat (sauna, sun) or alcohol for 24–48 hours post-treatment to reduce risk of swelling/bruising.

SUITABILITY / CONSULTATION

Not everyone is a candidate. In consultation we assess skin quality, medical history, expectations, and plan a customised treatment.

Allergic reactions are rare, since Profhilo is non-animal derived hyaluronic acid.

BEFORE TREATMENT

Avoid blood-thinning medications (aspirin, ibuprofen) or supplements, alcohol in the 24 hours beforehand (where safe medically).

Cleanse skin; avoid heavy make-up the day of treatment.

AFTERCARE ADVICE

• Use gentle, non-irritant skincare for 24 hours.
• Avoid touching / massaging treated sites for first few hours.
• Avoid saunas, intense heat and vigorous exercise immediately post-procedure.
• Use cold compresses if there is swelling or discomfort.
• Use SPF and sun protection, as the remodelling tissue is more sensitive.

RISK & SIDE EFFECTS

• Tenderness or itching
• Small temporary bumps (micro-blebs)
• Very rare: infection, nodules, delayed inflammation (very unlikely in expert hands)

• The full remodelling / tightening effect typically evolves over 4 to 8 weeks, as new collagen and elastin form. 
• Maximum effect is often seen 2 months after the second session in a standard course.

What is the difference between Profhilo and Profhilo Body?

Both treatments are based on highly concentrated, pure hyaluronic acid, designed to deeply hydrate and remodel the skin.
